For your health!

It's simple, just exercise ya dingus!
For your health!
Ahhhh if only it was that simple Dr Steve Brule.

I'm signed up to a couple of body building motivation pages, these pages all aim to inspire and each day they do, for me. I'm aware that some of these "athletes" are using products that aren't good for their health, but the underlying message of "get off your arse and train!" is strong and valid.

If having a ripped body, bulging biceps or a six pack of abs isn't YOUR goal, these pages might not be for you. But this doesn't mean you shouldn't subscribe to these pages for wisdom and motivation.

I think for some, starting with a HEALTH goal would be a better starting point. Nobody said you can't dream big, but making sure your goals and plans to achieve them are manageable might stop you from failing. Following some healthy eating and simple fitness pages might be a better starting point before going HARD CORE!

How many people start a New Years resolution to get fit and then fail? Is this because they look in the mirror after one week and say, "I don't look like the fitness models that I'm aspiring to". Results can be the best motivator and indicator of how you are traveling.

So maybe if you struggle to play at the park with your kids, or you are always sleepy or you have sore body parts from being over weight, try making goals to change these health related issues first. Then over time decide who you want to be.

Exercising for your health is and should be everybody's first and formost goal, everything else should be second (in my opinion anyway!)

To Herc or not to Herc?

Some may already know, I’m a dreamer.
Some of you may also know that this year and through to the next, I have tasked myself with a project that is GIANT, nay MYTHOLOGICAL in size! A project so big that perhaps even the titan Atlas would not be able to hold it… oh wait, maybe I’m getting a little too caught up in the project theme here.
I am working on a charity calendar for Telethon, it will be Greek Mythology themed and also fitness themed, with may glistening bodies and fit figures. Greece was home of the great athletes after all.
I had been asked if I was going to model, and for a little while I was contemplating not modeling as I wanted to focus on the directorial side of things.
However, as my tests with Tribulus and L-Glutamine continue I’m seeing a svelte figure unfold before me.
Dare I? Perhaps, but as which hero? Well the scene that I was planning for Hercules is supposed to involve a very large dog. The dog I have in mind would most likely scare the crap out of any potential model companion or he would be scared of them (the dog is a bit odd). Perhaps then, this will be the character that I embody.
It seems only fit that last year I was talking about the Greek ideal and now it has come full fold as I contemplate posing as the Greek Ideal.
This also opens up a few fun ideas to help promote the calendar… those ill keep under wraps for now though.
I think I’ll do it.
Yeah I’ll Herc it up.
Bring it on GYM KDAWG has a now goal set!

From little things, big things GROW!

We are always hearing about anorexia and eating disorders for females, but you don't hear much on that side for the guys. Is it that men have a better strength against body image problems and the phycosis of eating?

Nope!

Men are just as ceceptible as females. In fact young men are currently increasing in a trend that some are donning "bigarexia" the body dismorphia condition that allows someone to look in the mirror and instead if seeing the progress they have made, see a small gain leaving the individual unhappy with the progress.

This leads to thoughts and sometimes action, of steriod abuse, binge eating and OCD level dieting.

What can be done about it?

As most young men like to stir up their buddies, it's really easy to fall into a competitive trap and start to belittle your fellow gym friends. You'll tell them that they are looking small or talk about how you can lift more or look bigger than them. This for a start needs to stop!

Be vigilant of your fellow gym partners or gym brethren, if you think something is going on that is unhealthy, approach the person of concern and let them know. You'll soon find out if there is anything more to worry about. If you get a bad reaction, don't push it any further.

If you find yourself thinking that YOU are not getting to the figure you want, take a step back and reevaluate your regime. Talk to professionals and see if there is something you can do different to get to your goal other than cheating with "bad" supplements. You may find you need to cut back your routine rather than increase it!

But most if all be mindful that this condition exists, without knowledge, you cannot look for signs or do anything about it.
